# Scan Text

Scan each item with the provided detectors to uncover sensitive information.

## Parameters

  | Parameter    | Description                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          |
  | ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
  | Payload      | List of the text samples you wish to scan, separated by a comma.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     |
  | Policy UUIDs | A policy UUID to scan the request payload. Policies can be built in the Nightfall Dashboard.<br />For more information on creating policies refer to the [Nightfall AI Documentation](https://help.nightfall.ai/nightfall-ai/operationalizing-dlp/the-nightfall-dashboard/policies). |
  | Rule UUID    | A comma-separated list of detection rules UUIDs which are used to scan the request payload.                                                                                                                                                                                          |
  | Search By    | Search either by rules or policy.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    |
