# Entrust Certificate Services

> Entrust Certificate Services is a platform for managing digital certificate lifecycles, offering tools for issuance, renewal, and revocation. It provides a central dashboard to manage both Entrust and third-party certificates, improving security and operational efficiency.

## Creating an Entrust Certificate Services connection

### Using API User Credentials

To create the connection you need:

* A Username
* An API Key

#### Obtaining the credentials

1. Sign in to the Enterprise portal with your super admin credentials.
2. Proceed to **Administration** > **Advanced Settings** > **API** section.
3. Select **Generate Credentials**.
4. When the dialog window opens, you'll see these configuration choices:
   * (Optional) Add Friendly Name - assign an easily recognizable label to help locate this credential in your dashboard.
   * (Optional) Select Certificate - choose which certificate to associate with this API key. Available certificates will include any you previously created (verify using the Tracking ID you documented).
5. Click on the **Generate** button.
6. Save the displayed **Username** and **API key**.

#### Creating your connection

1. In the Blink platform, navigate to the **Connections** page > **Add connection**. A New Connection dialog box opens displaying icons of external service providers available.
2. Select the **Entrust Certificate Services** icon. A dialog box with name of the connection and connection methods appear.
3. (Optional) Edit the name of the connection. At a later stage you cannot edit the name.
4. Select **API User Credentials** as the method to create the connection.
5. Fill in the parameters:
   * The Username
   * The API Key
6. (Optional) Click **Test Connection** to test it.
7. Click **Create connection**. The new connection appears on the **Connections** page.
