# Delete User

Delete the user with the given ID from the system.

The action will not automatically delete phones associated with the user; remove them permanently with the `Delete Phone` action.

This action succeeds if the user was found and deleted or if no such user exists.

**Note**: This action requires the `Grant resource - Write` API permission.

Users deleted by this action are immediately and permanently removed from Duo and DO NOT get moved into the Trash view.
