# Reset User Password

Reset an existing vault user's password (non-component users only).

**Required Permissions for using this action**:

* `Audit users`
* `Reset Users' Passwords`

**Note**: The user who runs this action must be in the same vault location or higher as the user whose password is being reset.

## Parameters

  | Parameter    | Description                                                                                                                                |
  | ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
  | New Password | The user's new password.<br /><br />The password's maximum length is 39 characters and must meet the vault's password policy requirements. |
  | User ID      | The ID of the non-component user to reset password to.                                                                                     |
