# Delete File

Deletes a file, either permanently or by moving it to
the trash.

The enterprise settings determine whether the item will
be permanently deleted from Box or moved to the trash.

## Basic Parameters

  | File ID   | The unique identifier that represents a file. |

  | Ensure Item Has Not Changed | Ensures this item hasn't recently changed before making changes. 0 - not changed, 1 - changed. |
