# Akamai Identity Cloud Social

> Akamai Identity Cloud Social is a platform that enables seamless user authentication and authorization through social media accounts.

## Creating an Akamai Identity Cloud Social connection

## Using API Key

To create the connection you need:

* A Social Application Domain
* An API Key

### Obtaining the credentials

There are two ways you can access your API Key:

* [Manage Application Page](#manage-application-page)
* [Social Login Dashboard](#social-login-dashboard)

#### Manage Application Page

1. Go to your **Console**.

2. Navigate to **Manage Application** page.

3. Look for `rpx_key` value, that's your API Key. It looks like the following:

#### Social Login Dashboard[​](#social-login-dashboard "Direct link to Social Login Dashboard")

1. Open your **Social Login Dashboard**.

2. Click the **Manage Settings** icon.

3. Look for the `API Key (Secret)` value. It looks like the following:

### Creating your connection[​](#creating-your-connection "Direct link to Creating your connection")

1. In the Blink platform, navigate to the **Connections** page > **Add connection**. A New Connection dialog box opens displaying icons of external service providers available.

2. Select the **Akamai Identity Cloud Social** icon. A dialog box with name of the connection and connection methods appear.

3. (Optional) Edit the name of the connection. At a later stage you cannot edit the name.

4. Select **API Key** as the method to create the connection.

5. Fill in the parameters:

   * The Social Application Domain
   * The API Key

6. (Optional) Click **Test Connection** to test it.

7. Click **Create connection**. The new connection appears on the **Connections** page.
