# Data Source Types

> Instructions about the different data source Data Source Types

The data presented in the dashboard through tables or other widgets, such as graphs or numbers, is sourced from [Tables](/docs/blink-platform/tables/tables), [Case Management Tables](/docs/case-management/manage-tables) or [Case Management Reportings](/docs/blink-platform/dashboards/building-a-dashboard/source-types/case-management-reporting). Therefore, a prerequisite for building a valuable dashboard is to create at least one Table that can be selected in the [Dashboard-Building Interface](/docs/blink-platform/dashboards/building-a-dashboard/building-a-dashboard#dashboard-building-interface).
